Frequently asked questions

How do I cast to a TV?

Open shot-clock.app on the TV (or any big screen) and tap Try Now to create a room. Then open the Shoot Out app on your phone, choose "Cast to screen" and scan the QR code. Scores, breaks, the shot clock and foul calls mirror to the screen instantly.

The screen says another phone is already casting.

Only one phone can referee a room at a time, so a second phone that scans the same code is turned away. If you want to hand over, stop casting on the first phone (tap the casting row on the home screen), then scan the QR code again with the other phone.

The cast screen shows OFFLINE.

That means the screen hasn't heard from the phone recently. Check the phone still has an internet connection and the app is open — casting reconnects automatically within a few seconds.

What does Pro include?

Pro unlocks unlimited matches and the longer best-of formats. It is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase, all billed through the App Store.

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, then open the upgrade screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: go to Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Shoot Out. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the current billing period.

What are the shootout rules the app uses?

Ten-minute frames with a per-shot clock — 15 seconds for the first five minutes, 10 seconds for the last five. A missed clock is a foul. If the frame ends level, a sudden-death blue ball shootout decides it. The full rules are in the app under Rules.
